I cannot understand why that dog was shot at all. It was sitting on the ground doing nothing. Seems these policemen (and using the word men does not seem appropriate) are just a couple of little boys with big egos. I would hate to see what they would do if a person acted up for them. just saw this video….HOW DARE YOU USE SUCH FORCE ON A FRIGHTENED ANIMAL……YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELF…..he most definately was not aggressive to you,not a threat…..where was a tranquilizer, a vet, some humane way to help this poor animal which was obviously confused and afraid….and tied up, you could have waited it out….till appropriate help arrived……the two of you officers just wanted to be done with this and so you KILLED this poor dog in COLD BLOOD….never would I want you to come to my aid for anything……..there is no way you could ever convince anyone this was a justified shooting…..FOR SHAME………DOG KILLERS !!!!!! Dumb and Dumber caused the escalation of this incident! Cammi was calm and almost bored until Tweedle-Dumb and Tweedle-Dumber attacked him! Cammi obviously didn’t understand why he was shot, because he was wagging his tail as he lay dying! I’m lucky I wasn’t there or I’d be in jail or shot by Thing One and Thing Two for being “vicious”!!!!!
I am a 64 year old woman that has always respected the law. That made me sick. That was terrible. Maybe after all these years I should rethink why I should have that kind of respect for such cruel cold blooded people. Be ashamed. Be very ashamed!!!!.
I have never seen anything so horrific in my life. That dog was sweet. She was even wagging her tail as she died. Did these two BASTARDS lose their jobs? They deserve to be in prison for the rest of their lives. How do they sleep at night? If they did that to my dog, they would be sued for every stinking cent they were worth. Since when is a dog running away from a perceived danger vicious or aggressive? If they were *that* afraid of the dog’s I’m-scared-please-don’t-hurt-me behavior, could they not get a relatively harmless tranquilizer gun to get her under control!? What heartless bastards! What is wrong with people!! It was scared, that’s why its ears were back. I train dogs, its not that hard to tell. The dog would have been fine if given a minute to calm down. That was pure idiocy. You could tell that the police officers were uncomfortable around the dog, they should not have been put on that call.
Cammi was NOT vicious! She was a scared little baby! She was trying her best to RUN AWAY from the cops! and when the jerkoff finally got her in the catchpole and had her laying on her side, her freaking tail was wagging!! WTF!? Cammi even sat down and lied down (at 3:00 minute). The dog didn’t even bark at them…or fight back until he caught its neck with the wired pole (hell I would try to fight against the pole too if someone did that to me) Vicious my foot!
And the dog was completely under control by the officer before it was shot. OMG this is so appalling.

OMG! This makes me sick. I hope those cops had to answer to someone for what they just did. After Cammi was shot the first time, she laid there wagging her tail, then the asshole cop shot her again. There is a special place in hell for them.
First off, the idiot did not know how to use a catch pole. Second, after a dog is on a catch pole, the fight is over! You can make him go anywhere! I did not see ANY aggression, or Viciousness” on Cammi’s part at all. The cop, who would be much better as a “rent a cop”, or “Mall Cop” should be dismissed! NOTHING was done to advance the continium of force up to shooting this animal. When he quit chasing her with the catch pole, and she laid down, she was telling him, “OK! I give up! Just don’t chase me anymore!”

This is not an aggressive dog. The officer was wrong for shooting the poor dog and should be fully responsible for his actions
I know how everyone feels watching this video, when I first saw it last year I literally threw up, I could not believe what they did to that poor dog that was not aggressive in any way and was already on a chain, she was not doing anything and showed she was calm until they started trying to put a catch pole on her, and then to walk her across the street and shoot her like they did and I cried when they shot her and saw she started to wag her tail when they approached her for the second shot I was mortified, I prayed to the creator to punish the POS cops for doing that to one of his defenceless creature and went so far as to ask my x-husband who is a lawyer to contact her owners and help them as we are both animal advocates, but unfortunately we are from Canada and my x-husband is considered an enemy of the state because of some of the high profile cases he has taken and is no longer allowed into the states, but I so wish that we could have done and do something for these animals other than give advice and or monies for lawyers in the US

It seemed to me that the dog was scared and all it needed was a little bit of patience and a few calming words from the policeman. A man with a gun is like a man with a hammer, every problem looks like a nail!

really… this dog wasnt vicious at all just frightened. im so glad to know my tax dollars go to trigger happy idiots running around not protecting people and killing innocent animals… wtf… ill lay it out like this to you my home was broken into and before the officer arrived at my home i told dispatch who informed to me to put her in the yard “just for my pets safety” in case she would jump on the officer JUMP not bite JUMP my dog is a happy baby who greets everyone when the police officer finally got here an HOUR after we called i stood in front of my dog at the gate when he arrived and when he left because she did bark alot clearly her home was invaded she was as afraid as i was. if a cop showed up to my house and killed my pet he or she would have another thing coming a pet is a family member and as strongly as i feel about my pets that would be like coming to my house and killing my child. Fuck these ignorant assholes.
I will admit that there were a couple times that Cammi would have made me nervous, with her biting around, but she was doing that out of fear. At the point in which this officer, actually both moments when each officer decided to draw their guns, Cammi was not a threat. And especially, when the officer who fired the shots drew his gun, Cammi was submissive and unmoving.
What the FUCK was he doing? Just making his job a little easier? Well suck it the fuck up. Accept that you can get injured and most likely will get injured. But the kill a living being, and so casually–oh that burns me up mighty quick! It gives me a mind to harness him against his will, terrified of what is happening, and then pull a gun on him!
The more I read, the more I am reassured that my distrust of the police force is firmly right to feel. I have seen too much abuse of the force that they have within their means. Many of them have power trips too often for my liking, and rarely do they get punished for this power trips (or at least publicly). Something needs to be. Not another internal review where “protocol was followed”. These officers must be held accountable.
I hope their consciences are killing them knowing what they have done.
I hope it bothers them enough that they lose sleep, can’t eat, and that it consumes their thoughts.
Not only should they feel guilt-ridden, they should be doing whatever they can to make up for the wrongs they have done.
This is so sickening. And frightening to know that we cannot trust the police anymore. I know there must still be some good policemen, but with things like this being condoned, we cannot feel safe even to call for help.
